Where are they Now? Silver State Wrestling actively works to recognize former Nevada Wrestlers
as they continue beyond their prep careers, whether as members of collegiate teams or as
competitors in national and international competitions. Former Nevada wrestlers whom are now
coaches are also recognized here. Please continue to support all of Nevada's former athletes as
they continue to strive toward excellence both on and off of the mat.

Randel Aleman

Cimarron Memorial H.S., Class of 2006
Randel Aleman comes to Tempe after four outstanding years at Cimarron-Memorial High School in Las Vegas where he not only helped his team win four-consecutive state championships, but also become the first wrestler in CMHS history to win four individual state crowns. As a senior, Aleman won the 145 pound crown after moving up in weight all four years he competed. He opened his career with the 103 title as a freshman before taking the 112 and 130 crowns.

Named as one of four team captains for this year's Indian wrestling team.

Previous College Experience: Wrestled for Lassen Community College under coach Paul Gomez... became an All-American placing 4th in the NJCAA.

High School: Graduated from Sparks High where he earned four letters in wrestling... was a three-time regional champion... earned all-state honors twice placing second then becoming a state champion... named 4A sportman of the year... voted most outstanding wrestler at the state tournament.

Personal: Born August 29, 1984... proud son of Kathryn Anundson... Kelly lists his family as his greatest influence.

Arizona State: Returning All-American at 197 after claiming fourth place at the 2004 NCAA Championships...three-time Pac-10 Championships finalist, winning the 2003 and 2004 titles and placing second in 2005...needs just 12 victories in his senior season to record 100 in a career. 2004-05: Finished the year with a 31-8 overall record and runner-up at the Pac-10 Championships...entered the NCAA Championships as the No. 7 seed...finished with a 2-2 record and did not place...finished second at both Fullerton Open and Las Vegas Invitational...took third at the Reno Tournament of Champions...scored a 5-3 upset of No. 4 Marcio Bothelo of Fresno State to advance to the third place bout at the Reno event...recorded three winning streaks of six bouts or more on three occasions, including an 11-match stretch...posted a record of 8-6 against nationally ranked foes...was 15-2 in dual meets...also went 7-1 in Pac-10 duals...was 8-0 at home... 2003-04: Finished the season at 33-8...won his second conference title in as many seasons at 197 after going 3-0 in the Pac-10 meet, defeating K.C Walsh of Boise State, 3-0, for the championship...went 4-2 at the NCAA Championships, placing fourth to earn his first All-America honor...began the season 8-0 and climbed into the Top 5 of the national rankings where he remained for a majority of the season...won the Missouri Open by defeating No. 16 Rusty Blackmon of Oklahoma State, 10-2...placed second at the Las Vegas Invite...went 4-0 at the Reno TOC on his way to a first place finish, defeating No. 8 Matt Monteiro of CS Bakersfield, 4-2...selected as ASU's Most Valuable Wrestler by the coaching staff... 2002-03: Built a 24-18 overall record on his way to the 2003 Pac-10 Championship at 197...was the No. 2 seed in the conference meet, going 3-0 and defeating No. 4 K.C. Walsh of Boise State, 2-1, for the title...his victory in the final clinched the team title for the Sun Devils...went 1-2 at the NCAA Championships...won his opening match in overtime, 6-4, over Millersville's Adam Schaaf before falling to national runner-up and top-seeded Jon Trenge of Lehigh, 11-2...was 3-8 against nationally ranked foes, including an 18-4 major decision over then-No. 6 Kyle Smith of Michigan, the seventh-place finisher at the national meet... 2001-02: Redshirted.

High School: A 2001 graduate of McQueen High School in Reno, Nev....earned four letters in wrestling, three in football...three-time captain of wrestling squad and two-time football captain...two-time Nevada state wrestling champion...named Nevada Wrestler of the Year...in football, was 2001 Nevada Defensive Player of the Year and helped team win state championship title.

Personal: Major is undeclared...parents are Mark and Anita Bader...has one sibling: Karlea...hobbies include hunting and fishing...born June 7, 1983, in Idaho...full name is Ryan DuWayne Bader.

Shane currently anchors the Lassen College lineup at the 184 pound weight class for the Cougars. A celebrated athlete while at Douglas High School, Shane compiled a 51-1 record en route to capturing the state wrestling title his senior year as well as the OW award for the tournament. While at Douglas High School Shane also earned the best sportsmanship award, an award which recognizes outstanding service by a student athlete both in their respective sport as well as in their community.
